For the grassland enthusiasts ... introducing Flynn

Cogent is currently expanding its grazing portfolio and the latest bull to be launched is Coolmohan Flynn who ranks at €300 EBI on the Irish base. Flynn is bred by Pat Flynn from Co. Cork, Ireland and is an 81% Friesian bull. A truly Irish bred bull, in Flynns pedigree we find a mixture of British Friesian, Dutch Friesian, New Zealand Friesian, MRIJ and Holstein blood.

Flynn's dam Coolmohan Rebecca Image 1 has calved 7 times and only lost time in her fifth lactation. Over these 7 lactations her average production is 6269kg milk at 4.77% fat and 4.07% protein in 273 days. Flynn is backed by 3 generations of 4% protein dams and both his dam and grand dam are classified Excellent.

Flynn is the fourth son Rebecca Image 1 to go into AI, with half brothers at BOVA AI and ABS, and a full brother at Cogent's Irish distributor Eurogene AI Services stud.

Flynn's strength is Fertility where he ranks in the top 1% in Ireland and he is also a strong SCC improver. As expected from his pedigree, Flynn is a great source for high component milk.

An ideal cheese makers bull with the bonus of BB kappa casein.
